End of Lease Cleaning Checklist NSW
A clean handover starts with a structured checklist. This NSW-focused guide helps tenants target the areas that most often trigger inspection comments and avoid last-minute rework.
Kitchen and laundry
- Degrease cooktop, splashback, rangehood exterior, and bench joins.
- Clean inside and outside oven, trays, and glass door.
- Wipe inside cupboards and drawers, including handles and edges.
- Detail sink, taps, and drains; remove scale and residue.
Bathrooms
- Descale shower screens, tiles, and tapware.
- Sanitise toilet, vanity, basin, mirrors, and storage fronts.
- Clear hair and residue from drains and corners.
- Wipe exhaust fans and visible vents where safe access is available.
Living areas and bedrooms
- Dust and wipe skirting boards, switches, handles, and wardrobes.
- Vacuum and mop hard floors; remove visible marks where possible.
- Clean internal windows, tracks, and sills.
- Check cobwebs on ceilings and corners.
Final handover checks
- Take date-stamped photos after cleaning is complete.
- Cross-check against your entry condition report and tenancy obligations.
- Confirm add-ons like carpet steam cleaning if your agreement specifically requires them.
